What an exciting school year it has been! Actives and Elders alike have been hard at work to leave the woodpile higher and to make improvements to the Chapter. We have invested a lot of energy into recruitment, branding, and brotherhood development especially, which has placed us in a great position for next year. As we inch closer towards our sesquicentennial anniversary in 2018, we can boast a growing 70-person chapter, welcoming the largest pledge class in our history, kicking off and making significant progress for our capital campaign, securing the 2018 Zeta Psi International Convention bid as the host chapter in Ithaca, and experiencing record involvement of our alumni.

Starting with the fall, Homecoming was well attended and provided an opportunity for many Actives and Elders to meet, network and enjoy the weekend’s festivities. Many of these relationships have fostered career development discussions, interview preparations, and the kind. Fast-forwarding to the spring, Rush Week went extremely well with 27 new brothers joining our Mystic Circle on February 26th. We are very proud of their hard work and look forward to their future contributions to the Chapter and Fraternity at-large.

Speaking of contributions, actives have continued to lead on campus. Many brothers volunteer as Orientation Supervisors and Orientation Steering Committee leaders in addition to participating in many organizations, such as Cornell Current, the Daily Sun, and Order of Omega Honor Society. In terms of athletic involvement, a number of brothers represent Zete in intramural sports with bowling, basketball, and water polo, among others. Philanthropy is front and center for the spring with past Phi, Jatin Bharwani ’18, leading a new “Zeta Psi at the Y” project, where a team of Zetes takes a weekly trip to the local YMCA and volunteer.

Physically speaking, the chapter house has received significant investments for furniture, with four new leather couches in the Great Room and custom-made benches on order to replace most of the chairs in the dining room. As the capital campaign continues through the next few years, we plan on much more investment into the property ahead of the Ithaca 2018 convention and for future Zetes.

Overall, the Brotherhood is ready to hit the ground running the rest of the semester, and with Founders’ Day right around the corner, the excitement is ever growing. We are proud to be Zetes and look forward to the road ahead.
